Terms of Use

Effective 4 November 2026. Sumfolio Road is run by DIYGeeks.

Agreeing to these terms

By making an account or using Sumfolio Road, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be 18 or older.

The service

Sumfolio Road records drives with your phone's location, lets you mark them business or personal, and adds up your miles. It's free during the beta. We may change, add or remove features; if we start charging, we'll tell you first, and nothing you've recorded will be held back.

Mileage figures come from GPS and can be wrong, for example in tunnels, with a weak signal, or when Android stops the app in the background. You're responsible for checking your records and for what you claim on your taxes. Totals and comparisons in the app are estimates, not tax advice.

Driving safely

Don't handle your phone while driving in a way the law or safety doesn't allow. Tracking needs no taps; sort trips when you're parked. Offer check only shows information; it never accepts or declines offers for you, and following its suggestions is your choice.

Your data

Your trips are yours. You give DIYGeeks permission to store and process them only as needed to run Sumfolio Road for you. This ends when you delete them or your account, apart from copies in backups, which are deleted within 30 days.

Acceptable use

Don't use Sumfolio Road to:

  • break the law or anyone's rights, or track someone else without their permission;
  • overload, probe or attack the service, or access it by automated means other than the app and website;
  • copy or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows it.

Ending your use

You can stop using Sumfolio Road and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or others at risk. If we close the service or your account for any other reason, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice where we can, so you can download your mileage logs.

No guarantees

Sumfolio Road is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, DIYGeeks makes no promises that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, or that it suits a particular purpose.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, DIYGeeks isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data or savings, arising from your use of Sumfolio Road. DIYGeeks's total liability for any claim about it is limited to the greater of what you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that can't be limited, such as consumer rights where you live, or liability for fraud or for harm caused by gross negligence.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, and disputes go to the state or federal courts in Santa Clara County, California. If you live in the EU, the UK or another place whose consumer laws give you the right, you can also rely on those laws and bring a claim in your local courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Sumfolio Road changes. When we do, we update the date at the top, and for changes that matter we'll email you at least 7 days before they take effect. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
